LIGHTWEIGHT SERVICE GAS MASK M3

The M6 bag, shown here, is OD7 color contains the protective device, accompanied by a bottle with a cloth impregnated with an anti-fog , 1 screen cover and a waterproofing kit contained in a pouch in canvas (Gas Mask Waterproofing Kit M1).

The manufacture of this lightweight mask began in January 1943, to replace the too bulky Service Gas Mask M2. The face mask has an inner flange that deflects the air exhaled through the nose and thus prevents the sights from misting up. The cylindrical M10A1 cartridge is connected to the mask by a corrugated tube shorter than that of the M2. Due to a rubber shortage, the mask was manufactured in black neoprene from the end of 1943. Production ceased in April 1944.

EYESHIELD M1

Consumable protective goggles against gases standardized in April 1943. The cellulose acetate screen is stapled between a strip of canvas impregnated with product against vesicant gases and a piece of felt positioned on the forehead. A cardboard pocket containing 4 unfolded glasses (2 transparent and 2 with smoked screen) is placed in the protective device bag. The glasses are held on the face by elastic braid.

Binoculars Type E : Binoculars marked US NAVAL GUN FACTORY Stereo 6x30. The leather case has a built-in compass on the cover. This is the model manufactured during World War I and used until 1941-42. It is replaced by the M3 model.
